The Administrator may assign and reassign the leased space to a federal agency.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idf096e6b9-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Terms</inline>.—</heading><content>A lease agreement under this subsection shall be on terms the Administrator considers to be in the interest of the Federal Government and necessary for the accommodation of the federal agency. However, the lease agreement may not bind the Government for more than 20 years and the obligation of amounts for a lease under this subsection is limited to the current fiscal year for which payments are due without regard to <ref href=\"/us/usc/t31/s1341/a/1/B\">section 1341(a)(1)(B) of title 31</ref>.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idf096e6ba-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Sublease.—</inline></heading><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idf096e6bb-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Application</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>This subsection applies to rent received if the Administrator—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idf096e6bc-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/b/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> determines that an unexpired portion of a lease of space to the Government is surplus property; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idf096e6bd-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/b/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> disposes of the property by sublease.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idf096e6be-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Use of rent</inline>.—</heading><content>Notwithstanding <ref href=\"/us/usc/t40/s571/a\">section 571(a) of this title</ref>, the Administrator may deposit rent received into the Federal Buildings Fund. The Administrator may defray from the fund any costs necessary to provide services to the Government’s lessee and to pay the rent (not otherwise provided for) on the lease of the space to the Government.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idf096e6bf-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t40/s585/c\"><num value=\"c\">(c)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Amounts for Rent Available for Lease of Buildings on Government Land</inline>.—</heading><content>Amounts made available to the General Services Administration for the payment of rent may be used to lease space, for a period of not more than 30 years, in buildings erected on land owned by the Government.</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idf096e6c0-b211-11e9-9941-df2837ad0631\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/107/217\">Pub.
