<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id3873ad2e-56ae-11e3-9436-86e561d18d41" identifier="/us/usc/t40/s606"><num value="606">§ 606.</num><heading> Regulations related to operation</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id3873ad2f-56ae-11e3-9436-86e561d18d41" identifier="/us/usc/t40/s606/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>The Director of the Office of Personnel Management shall prescribe regulations to govern executive agencies in authorizing civilian personnel to operate Federal Government-owned motor vehicles for official purposes within the States of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the territories and possessions of the United States.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id3873ad30-56ae-11e3-9436-86e561d18d41" identifier="/us/usc/t40/s606/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Elements of the Regulations</inline>.—</heading><content>The regulations shall prescribe standards of physical fitness for authorized operators. The regulations may require operators and prospective operators to obtain state and local licenses or permits that are required to operate similar vehicles for other than official purposes.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id3873ad31-56ae-11e3-9436-86e561d18d41" identifier="/us/usc/t40/s606/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Agency Orders</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The head of each executive agency shall issue orders and directives necessary for compliance with the regulations. The orders and directives shall provide for—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id3873ad32-56ae-11e3-9436-86e561d18d41" identifier="/us/usc/t40/s606/c/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> periodically testing the physical fitness of operators and prospective operators; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id3873ad33-56ae-11e3-9436-86e561d18d41" identifier="/us/usc/t40/s606/c/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> suspension and revocation of authority to operate.</content>
