<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id8f22650a-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s10005"><num value="10005">§ 10005.</num><heading> Model statute</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In order to encourage the administration of accreditation and certification programs by the States, the Secretary shall prepare and transmit to the States a model statute for radiologic procedure safety. Such model statute shall provide that—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8f22650b-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s10005/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> it shall be unlawful in a State for individuals to perform radiologic procedures unless such individuals are certified by the State to perform such procedures; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8f22650c-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s10005/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> any educational requirements for certification of individuals to perform radiologic procedures shall be limited to educational programs accredited by the State.</content>
