L. 104–271, title I, § 102(a), Oct. 9, 1996, 110 Stat. 3304.)","seq_in_title":6497,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch128","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42","level":"title","num":"Title 42—","heading":"THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch128","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 128—","heading":"HYDROGEN RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, AND DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id8f64c5f9-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s12402\"><num value=\"12402\">§ 12402.</num><heading> Report to Congress</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8f64c5fa-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s12402/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><content> Not later than <date date=\"1999-01-01\">January 1, 1999</date>, the Secretary shall transmit to Congress a detailed report on the status and progress of the programs authorized under this chapter.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8f64c5fb-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s12402/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><chapeau> A report under subsection (a) shall include, in addition to any views and recommendations of the Secretary—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8f64c5fc-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s12402/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> an analysis of the effectiveness of the programs authorized under this chapter, to be prepared and submitted to the Secretary by the Hydrogen Technical Advisory Panel established under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s12407\">section 12407 of this title</ref>; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8f64c5fd-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s12402/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> recommendations of the Hydrogen Technical Advisory Panel for any improvements in the program that are needed, including recommendations for additional legislation.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id8f64c5fe-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/101/566/s103\">Pub.
