<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="idad2e1d9c-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634"><num value="12634">§ 12634.</num><heading> Prohibition on use of funds</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idad2e1d9d-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Prohibited uses</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">No assistance made available under a grant under this subchapter shall be used to provide religious instruction, conduct worship services, or engage in any form of proselytization.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idad2e1d9e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Political activity</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Assistance provided under this subchapter shall not be used by program participants and program staff to—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idad2e1d9f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> assist, promote, or deter union organizing; or</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idad2e1da0-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> finance, directly or indirectly, any activity designed to influence the outcome of an election to Federal office or the outcome of an election to a State or local public office.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idad2e1da1-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Contracts or collective bargaining agreements</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">A program that receives assistance under this subchapter shall not impair existing contracts for services or collective bargaining agreements.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idad2e44b2-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12634/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Referrals for Federal assistance</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">A program may not receive assistance under the national service laws for the sole purpose of referring individuals to Federal assistance programs or State assistance programs funded in part by the Federal Government.</p>
