<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id0bd0c73b-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904"><num value="12904">§ 12904.</num><heading> Eligible activities</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Grants allocated under this chapter shall be available only for approved activities to carry out strategies designed to prevent homelessness among eligible persons. Approved activities shall include activities that—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0bd0c73c-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> enable public and nonprofit organizations or agencies to provide housing information to such persons and coordinate efforts to expand housing assistance resources for such persons under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s12906">section 12906 of this title</ref>;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0bd0c73d-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> facilitate the development and operation of shelter and services for such persons under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s12907">section 12907 of this title</ref>;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0bd0c73e-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> provide rental assistance to such persons under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s12908">section 12908 of this title</ref>;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0bd0c73f-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> facilitate (through project-based rental assistance or other means) the moderate rehabilitation of single room occupancy dwellings (SROs) that would be made available only to such persons under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s12909">section 12909 of this title</ref>;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0bd0c740-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><content> facilitate the development of community residences for eligible persons under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s12910">section 12910 of this title</ref>;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0bd0c741-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s12904/6"><num value="6">(6)</num><content> carry out other activities that the Secretary develops in cooperation with eligible States and localities, except that activities developed under this paragraph may be assisted only with amounts provided under section 12903(c)(3) <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn004061">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn004061"><num>1</num> See References in Text note below.</note> of this title.</content>
</paragraph>

<continuation style="-uslm-lc:I10" class="indent0 firstIndent0">The Secretary shall establish standards and guidelines for approved activities. The Secretary shall permit grantees to refine and adapt such standards and guidelines for individual projects, where such refinements and adaptations are made necessary by local circumstances.</continuation>
