L. 102–486, title XII, § 1209, Oct. 24, 1992, 106 Stat. 2964.)","seq_in_title":6823,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch134/schV","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42","level":"title","num":"Title 42—","heading":"THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch134","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 134—","heading":"ENERGY POLICY","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch134/schV","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER V—","heading":"RENEWABLE ENERGY","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id8f9c5031-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315\"><num value=\"13315\">§ 13315.</num><heading> Data system and energy technology evaluation</heading>\n<chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Secretary of Commerce, in his or her role as a member of the interagency working group established under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s6276\">section 6276 of this title</ref>, shall—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8f9c5032-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> develop a comprehensive data base and information dissemination system, using the National Trade Data Bank and the Commercial Information Management System of the Department of Commerce, that will provide information on the specific energy technology needs of foreign countries, and the technical and economic competitiveness of various renewable energy and energy efficiency products and technologies;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8f9c7743-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> make such information available to industry, Federal and multilateral lending agencies, nongovernmental organizations, host-country and donor-agency officials, and such others as the Secretary of Commerce considers necessary; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8f9c7744-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><chapeau> prepare and transmit to the Congress not later than <date date=\"1993-06-01\">June 1, 1993</date>, and biennially thereafter, a comprehensive report evaluating the full range of energy and environmental technologies necessary to meet the energy needs of foreign countries, including—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id8f9c7745-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/3/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> information on the specific energy needs of foreign countries;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id8f9c7746-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/3/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> an inventory of United States technologies and services to meet those needs;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id8f9c7747-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/3/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><content> an update on the status of ongoing bilateral and multilateral programs which promote United States exports of renewable energy and energy efficiency products and technologies; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id8f9c7748-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s13315/3/D\"><num value=\"D\">(D)</num><content> an evaluation of current programs (and recommendations for future programs) that develop and promote energy efficiency and sustainable use of indigenous renewable energy resources in foreign countries to reduce the generation of greenhouse gases.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id8f9c7749-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/102/486/tXII/s1209\">Pub.
