<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The purpose of this subchapter is to facilitate the efficient recycling or proper disposal of used nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries, used small sealed lead-acid rechargeable batteries, other regulated batteries, and such rechargeable batteries in used consumer products, by—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8fac7d47-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s14321/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> providing for uniform labeling requirements and streamlined regulatory requirements for regulated battery collection programs; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8fac7d48-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s14321/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> encouraging voluntary industry programs by eliminating barriers to funding the collection and recycling or proper disposal of used rechargeable batteries.</content>
