L. 106–402, title I, § 103, Oct. 30, 2000, 114 Stat. 1688.)","seq_in_title":7250,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch144/schI/ptA","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42","level":"title","num":"Title 42—","heading":"THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch144","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 144—","heading":"DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ASSISTANCE AND BILL OF RIGHTS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch144/schI","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER I—","heading":"PROGRAMS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch144/schI/ptA","level":"part","num":"Part A—","heading":"General Provisions","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"idad6a638a-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003\"><num value=\"15003\">§ 15003.</num><heading> Records and audits</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idad6a638b-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Records</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Each recipient of assistance under this subchapter shall keep such records as the Secretary shall prescribe, including—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idad6a638c-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><chapeau> records that fully disclose—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idad6a638d-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/a/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> the amount and disposition by such recipient of the assistance;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idad6a638e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/a/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> the total cost of the project or undertaking in connection with which such assistance is given or used; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idad6a638f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/a/1/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><content> the amount of that portion of the cost of the project or undertaking that is supplied by other sources; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idad6a6390-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> such other records as will facilitate an effective audit.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idad6a6391-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s15003/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Access</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Secretary and the Comptroller General of the United States, or any of their duly authorized representatives, shall have access for the purpose of audit and examination to any books, documents, papers, and records of the recipients of assistance under this subchapter that are pertinent to such assistance.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idad6a6392-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/106/402/tI/s103\">Pub.
