<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id06ea80e7-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s1582"><num value="1582">§ 1582.</num><heading> Temporary housing exempted from provisions of <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1553">section 1553 of this title</ref></heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The requirements of <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1553">section 1553 of this title</ref> shall not apply to any temporary housing—</chapeau><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id06ea80e8-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s1582/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><content> for which such requirements have been waived pursuant to section 1575 <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn003117">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn003117"><num>1</num> See References in Text note below.</note> or <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1581">section 1581 of this title</ref>;</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id06ea80e9-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s1582/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><content> transferred by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to the jurisdiction of the Department of the Army, the Navy, or the Air Force pursuant to <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1524">section 1524 of this title</ref>;</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id06ea80ea-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s1582/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><content> disposed of by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under subchapter II or IV of this chapter for long-term housing or nonhousing use without any requirement for removal where the governing body of the municipality or county has adopted a resolution determining that, on the basis of local need and acceptability, the structures involved are (1) satisfactory for such long-term use or (2) satisfactory for such long-term use if conditions prescribed in such resolution, affecting the physical characteristics of the project, are met: <i>Provided</i>, That any such conditions shall not affect the disposal of any temporary housing hereunder, and the United States shall assume no responsibility for compliance with such conditions: <i>And provided further</i>, That any housing disposed of for housing use in accordance with this subsection shall thereafter be deemed to be housing accommodations, the construction of which was completed after <date date="1947-06-30">June 30, 1947</date>, within the meaning of section 4 of the Housing and Rent Act of 1947, as amended, relating to preference or priority to veterans or their families; or</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id06ea80eb-80bc-11ea-808b-a3be13bc391b" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s1582/d"><num value="d">(d)</num><content> disposed of or relinquished by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development prior to <date date="1950-04-20">April 20, 1950</date>, subject to such requirements or contractual obligations pursuant thereto, where the governing body of the municipality or county on or before <date date="1950-12-31">December 31, 1950</date>, adopts a resolution as provided in (c) <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn003118">2</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn003118"><num>2</num> So in original. Probably should be preceded by “subsection”.</note> above; and any contract obligations to the Federal Government for the removal of such housing shall be relinquished upon the filing of such a resolution with the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.</content>
