<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id8fc360b7-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s16011"><num value="16011">§ 16011.</num><heading> Demonstration hydrogen production at existing nuclear power plants</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8fc360b8-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s16011/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Demonstration projects</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Secretary shall provide for the establishment of 2 projects in geographic areas that are regionally and climatically diverse to demonstrate the commercial production of hydrogen at existing nuclear power plants.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8fc360b9-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s16011/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Economic analysis</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Prior to making an award under subsection (a), the Secretary shall determine whether the use of existing nuclear power plants is a cost-effective means of producing hydrogen.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8fc360ba-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s16011/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Authorization of appropriations</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">There are authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary for the purposes of carrying out this section not more than $100,000,000.</p>
