<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="idd938f97e-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123"><num value="17123">§ 17123.</num><heading> Green Building Advisory Committee</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f97f-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Establishment</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Not later than 180 days after <date date="2007-12-19">December 19, 2007</date>, the Federal Director, in coordination with the Commercial Director, shall establish an advisory committee, to be known as the “Green Building Advisory Committee”.</p>

</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f980-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Membership</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f981-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The Committee shall be composed of representatives of, at a minimum—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="idd938f982-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> each agency referred to in <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s17081/e">section 17081(e) of this title</ref>; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="idd938f983-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><chapeau> other relevant agencies and entities, as determined by the Federal Director, including at least 1 representative of each of—</chapeau><clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="idd938f984-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><content> State and local governmental green building programs;</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="idd938f985-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><content> independent green building associations or councils;</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="idd938f986-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B/iii"><num value="iii">(iii)</num><content> building experts, including architects, material suppliers, and construction contractors;</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="idd938f987-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B/iv"><num value="iv">(iv)</num><content> security advisors focusing on national security needs, natural disasters, and other dire emergency situations;</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="idd938f988-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B/v"><num value="v">(v)</num><content> public transportation industry experts; and</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="idd938f989-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/1/B/vi"><num value="vi">(vi)</num><content> environmental health experts, including those with experience in children’s health.</content>
</clause>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f98a-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/b/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Non-Federal members</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The total number of non-Federal members on the Committee at any time shall not exceed 15.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f98b-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Meetings</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Federal Director shall establish a regular schedule of meetings for the Committee.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f98c-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Duties</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Committee shall provide advice and expertise for use by the Federal Director in carrying out the duties under this part, including such recommendations relating to Federal activities carried out under sections 434 through 436 <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn004165">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn004165"><num>1</num> See References in Text note below.</note> as are agreed to by a majority of the members of the Committee.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idd938f98d-406b-11eb-bd25-fd7436c081d8" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s17123/e"><num value="e" class="bold">(e)</num><heading class="bold"> FACA exemption</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Committee shall not be subject to section 14 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App.).</p>
