<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id08fe9080-a3ff-11ea-86ff-83cda9c31b93" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s18116"><num value="18116">§ 18116.</num><heading> Nondiscrimination</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id08fe9081-a3ff-11ea-86ff-83cda9c31b93" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s18116/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Except as otherwise provided for in this title <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn004249">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn004249"><num>1</num> See References in Text note below.</note> (or an amendment made by this title),<ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn004249">1</ref> an individual shall not, on the ground prohibited under title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s2000d">42 U.S.C. 2000d</ref> et seq.), title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (<ref href="/us/usc/t20/s1681">20 U.S.C. 1681</ref> et seq.), the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 (<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s6101">42 U.S.C. 6101</ref> et seq.), or <ref href="/us/usc/t29/s794">section 794 of title 29</ref>, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under, any health program or activity, any part of which is receiving Federal financial assistance, including credits, subsidies, or contracts of insurance, or under any program or activity that is administered by an Executive Agency or any entity established under this title <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn004249">1</ref> (or amendments). The enforcement mechanisms provided for and available under such title VI, title IX, section 794, or such Age Discrimination Act shall apply for purposes of violations of this subsection.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id08fe9082-a3ff-11ea-86ff-83cda9c31b93" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s18116/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Continued application of laws</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Nothing in this title <sup>1</sup> (or an amendment made by this title) <sup>1</sup> shall be construed to invalidate or limit the rights, remedies, procedures, or legal standards available to individuals aggrieved under title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s2000d">42 U.S.C. 2000d</ref> et seq.), title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s2000e">42 U.S.C. 2000e</ref> et seq.), title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (<ref href="/us/usc/t20/s1681">20 U.S.C. 1681</ref> et seq.), <ref href="/us/usc/t29/s794">section 794 of title 29</ref>, or the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 [<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s6101">42 U.S.C. 6101</ref> et seq.], or to supersede State laws that provide additional protections against discrimination on any basis described in subsection (a).</p>
