<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id87d66a44-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s214"><num value="214">§ 214.</num><heading> Presentation of United States flag upon retirement</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id87d69155-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s214/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Presentation of flag</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Upon the release of an officer of the commissioned corps of the Service from active commissioned service for retirement, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall present a United States flag to the officer.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id87d69156-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s214/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Multiple presentations not authorized</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">An officer is not eligible for presentation of a flag under subsection (a) if the officer has previously been presented a flag under this section or any other provision of law providing for the presentation of a United States flag incident to release from active service for retirement.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id87d69157-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s214/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> No cost to recipient</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The presentation of a flag under this section shall be at no cost to the recipient.</p>
