<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id8d5e1ffd-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s3608a"><num value="3608a">§ 3608a.</num><heading> Collection of certain data</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8d5e1ffe-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s3608a/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">To assess the extent of compliance with Federal fair housing requirements (including the requirements established under title VI of <ref href="/us/pl/88/352">Public Law 88–352</ref> [<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s2000d">42 U.S.C. 2000d</ref> et seq.] and title VIII of <ref href="/us/pl/90/284">Public Law 90–284</ref> [<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s3601">42 U.S.C. 3601</ref> et seq.]), the Secretary of Agriculture shall collect, not less than annually, data on the racial and ethnic characteristics of persons eligible for, assisted, or otherwise benefiting under each community development, housing assistance, and mortgage and loan insurance and guarantee program administered by such Secretary. Such data shall be collected on a building by building basis if the Secretary determines such collection to be appropriate.</p>
