Emergency services to be provided with assistance received under this section may include such types of assistance as the Secretary of Agriculture determines to be necessary and appropriate.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idab843e1c-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s5177a/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> “Low-income migrant or seasonal farmworker” defined</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">For the purposes of this section, the term “low-income migrant or seasonal farmworker” means an individual—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idab843e1d-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s5177a/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> who has, during any consecutive 12 month period within the preceding 24 month period, performed farm work for wages;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idab843e1e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s5177a/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> who has received not less than one-half of such individual’s total income, or been employed at least one-half of total work time in farm work; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idab843e1f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s5177a/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> whose annual family income within the 12 month period referred to in paragraph (1) does not exceed the higher of the poverty level or 70 percent of the lower living standard income level.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idab843e20-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s5177a/c\"><num value=\"c\" class=\"bold\">(c)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Authorization of appropriations</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out this section.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idab843e21-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/101/624/tXXII/s2281\">Pub.
