<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idabbbc922-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s5852/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Use of program funds for salaries and expenses</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Moneys received by the Commission for the cooperative nuclear research program, services rendered to State governments, foreign governments, and international organizations, and the material and information access authorization programs, including criminal history checks under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s2169">section 2169 of this title</ref> <ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn003368">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn003368"><num>1</num> So in original. Probably should be followed by a comma.</note> may be retained and used for salaries and expenses associated with those activities, notwithstanding <ref href="/us/usc/t31/s3302">section 3302 of title 31</ref>, and shall remain available until expended.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idabbbf033-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s5852/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Use of funds to provide voluntary separation incentive payments</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Notwithstanding <ref href="/us/pl/104/208/s663/c/2/D">section 663(c)(2)(D) of Public Law 104–208</ref>, and to facilitate targeted workforce downsizing and restructuring, the Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission may use funds appropriated in this Act to exercise the authority provided by section 663 of that Act with respect to employees who voluntarily separate from <date date="1998-10-07">October 7, 1998</date>, through <date date="2000-12-31">December 31, 2000</date>. All of the requirements in <ref href="/us/pl/104/208/s663">section 663 of Public Law 104–208</ref>, except for section 663(c)(2)(D), apply to the exercise of authority under this section.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="idabbbf034-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s5852/e"><num value="e" class="bold">(e)</num><heading class="bold"> Fiscal year applicability</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Subsections (a), (b), and (c) of this section shall apply to fiscal year 1999 and each succeeding fiscal year.</p>
