<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="ida6aaa272-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611"><num value="611">§ 611.</num><heading> Data collection and reporting</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaa273-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Quarterly reports by States</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaa274-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> General reporting requirement</heading><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaa275-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A"><num value="A" class="bold">(A)</num><heading class="bold"> Contents of report</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">Each eligible State shall collect on a monthly basis, and report to the Secretary on a quarterly basis, the following disaggregated case record information on the families receiving assistance under the State program funded under this part (except for information relating to activities carried out under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603/a/5">section 603(a)(5) of this title</ref>) or any other State program funded with qualified State expenditures (as defined in <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s609/a/7/B/i">section 609(a)(7)(B)(i) of this title</ref>):</chapeau><clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa276-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><content> The county of residence of the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa277-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><chapeau> Whether a child receiving such assistance or an adult in the family is receiving—</chapeau><subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa278-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ii/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> Federal disability insurance benefits;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa279-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ii/II"><num value="II">(II)</num><content> benefits based on Federal disability status;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa27a-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ii/III"><num value="III">(III)</num><content> aid under a State plan approved under subchapter XIV (as in effect without regard to the amendment made by section 301 of the Social Security Amendments of 1972);</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa27b-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ii/IV"><num value="IV">(IV)</num><content> aid or assistance under a State plan approved under subchapter XVI (as in effect without regard to such amendment) by reason of being permanently and totally disabled; or</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa27c-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ii/V"><num value="V">(V)</num><content> supplemental security income benefits under subchapter XVI (as in effect pursuant to such amendment) by reason of disability.</content>
</subclause>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa27d-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/iii"><num value="iii">(iii)</num><content> The ages of the members of such families.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa27e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/iv"><num value="iv">(iv)</num><content> The number of individuals in the family, and the relation of each family member to the head of the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa27f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/v"><num value="v">(v)</num><content> The employment status and earnings of the employed adult in the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa280-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/vi"><num value="vi">(vi)</num><content> The marital status of the adults in the family, including whether such adults have never married, are widowed, or are divorced.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa281-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/vii"><num value="vii">(vii)</num><content> The race and educational level of each adult in the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa282-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/viii"><num value="viii">(viii)</num><content> The race and educational level of each child in the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa283-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/ix"><num value="ix">(ix)</num><content> Whether the family received subsidized housing, medical assistance under the State plan approved under subchapter XIX, supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, or subsidized child care, and if the latter 2, the amount received.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa284-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/x"><num value="x">(x)</num><content> The number of months that the family has received each type of assistance under the program.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa285-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi"><num value="xi">(xi)</num><chapeau> If the adults participated in, and the number of hours per week of participation in, the following activities:</chapeau><subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa286-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> Education.</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa287-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/II"><num value="II">(II)</num><content> Subsidized private sector employment.</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa288-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/III"><num value="III">(III)</num><content> Unsubsidized employment.</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa289-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/IV"><num value="IV">(IV)</num><content> Public sector employment, work experience, or community service.</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa28a-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/V"><num value="V">(V)</num><content> Job search.</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa28b-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/VI"><num value="VI">(VI)</num><content> Job skills training or on-the-job training.</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaa28c-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xi/VII"><num value="VII">(VII)</num><content> Vocational education.</content>
</subclause>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa28d-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xii"><num value="xii">(xii)</num><content> Information necessary to calculate participation rates under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s607">section 607 of this title</ref>.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa28e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xiii"><num value="xiii">(xiii)</num><content> The type and amount of assistance received under the program, including the amount of and reason for any reduction of assistance (including sanctions).</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa28f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xiv"><num value="xiv">(xiv)</num><content> Any amount of unearned income received by any member of the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaa290-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xv"><num value="xv">(xv)</num><content> The citizenship of the members of the family.</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aac9a1-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvi"><num value="xvi">(xvi)</num><chapeau> From a sample of closed cases, whether the family left the program, and if so, whether the family left due to—</chapeau><subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aac9a2-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvi/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> employment;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aac9a3-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvi/II"><num value="II">(II)</num><content> marriage;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aac9a4-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvi/III"><num value="III">(III)</num><content> the prohibition set forth in <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s608/a/7">section 608(a)(7) of this title</ref>;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aac9a5-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvi/IV"><num value="IV">(IV)</num><content> sanction; or</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aac9a6-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvi/V"><num value="V">(V)</num><content> State policy.</content>
</subclause>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aac9a7-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/A/xvii"><num value="xvii">(xvii)</num><content> With respect to each individual in the family who has not attained 20 years of age, whether the individual is a parent of a child in the family.</content>
</clause>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9a8-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/B"><num value="B" class="bold">(B)</num><heading class="bold"> Use of samples</heading><clause style="-uslm-lc:I77" class="indent5 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9a9-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/B/i"><num value="i" class="bold">(i)</num><heading class="bold"> Authority</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3">A State may comply with subparagraph (A) by submitting disaggregated case record information on a sample of families selected through the use of scientifically acceptable sampling methods approved by the Secretary.</p>
</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I77" class="indent5 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9aa-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/1/B/ii"><num value="ii" class="bold">(ii)</num><heading class="bold"> Sampling and other methods</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3">The Secretary shall provide the States with such case sampling plans and data collection procedures as the Secretary deems necessary to produce statistically valid estimates of the performance of State programs funded under this part and any other State programs funded with qualified State expenditures (as defined in <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s609/a/7/B/i">section 609(a)(7)(B)(i) of this title</ref>). The Secretary may develop and implement procedures for verifying the quality of data submitted by the States.</p>

</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9ab-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Report on use of Federal funds to cover administrative costs and overhead</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The report required by paragraph (1) for a fiscal quarter shall include a statement of the percentage of the funds paid to the State under this part for the quarter that are used to cover administrative costs or overhead, with a separate statement of the percentage of such funds that are used to cover administrative costs or overhead incurred for programs operated with funds provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603/a/5">section 603(a)(5) of this title</ref>.</p>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9ac-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/3"><num value="3" class="bold">(3)</num><heading class="bold"> Report on State expenditures on programs for needy families</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The report required by paragraph (1) for a fiscal quarter shall include a statement of the total amount expended by the State during the quarter on programs for needy families, with a separate statement of the total amount expended by the State during the quarter on programs operated with funds provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603/a/5">section 603(a)(5) of this title</ref>.</p>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9ad-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/4"><num value="4" class="bold">(4)</num><heading class="bold"> Report on noncustodial parents participating in work activities</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The report required by paragraph (1) for a fiscal quarter shall include the number of noncustodial parents in the State who participated in work activities (as defined in <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s607/d">section 607(d) of this title</ref>) during the quarter, with a separate statement of the number of such parents who participated in programs operated with funds provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603/a/5">section 603(a)(5) of this title</ref>.</p>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9ae-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/5"><num value="5" class="bold">(5)</num><heading class="bold"> Report on transitional services</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The report required by paragraph (1) for a fiscal quarter shall include the total amount expended by the State during the quarter to provide transitional services to a family that has ceased to receive assistance under this part because of employment, along with a description of such services.</p>

</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9af-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/6"><num value="6" class="bold">(6)</num><heading class="bold"> Report on families receiving assistance</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The report required by paragraph (1) for a fiscal quarter shall include for each month in the quarter—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aac9b0-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/6/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> the number of families and individuals receiving assistance under the State program funded under this part (including the number of 2-parent and 1-parent families);</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aac9b1-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/6/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> the total dollar value of such assistance received by all families; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aac9b2-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/6/C"><num value="C">(C)</num><chapeau> with respect to families and individuals participating in a program operated with funds provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603/a/5">section 603(a)(5) of this title</ref>—</chapeau><clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aac9b3-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/6/C/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><content> the total number of such families and individuals; and</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aac9b4-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/6/C/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><content> the number of such families and individuals whose participation in such a program was terminated during a month.</content>

</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aac9b5-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/a/7"><num value="7" class="bold">(7)</num><heading class="bold"> Regulations</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The Secretary shall prescribe such regulations as may be necessary to define the data elements with respect to which reports are required by this subsection, and shall consult with the Secretary of Labor in defining the data elements with respect to programs operated with funds provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603/a/5">section 603(a)(5) of this title</ref>.</p>

</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0c6-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Annual reports to Congress by Secretary</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Not later than 6 months after the end of fiscal year 1997, and each fiscal year thereafter, the Secretary shall transmit to the Congress a report describing—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida6aaf0c7-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><chapeau> whether the States are meeting—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aaf0c8-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> the participation rates described in <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s607/a">section 607(a) of this title</ref>; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aaf0c9-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><chapeau> the objectives of—</chapeau><clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaf0ca-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/1/B/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><content> increasing employment and earnings of needy families, and child support collections; and</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaf0cb-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/1/B/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><content> decreasing out-of-wedlock pregnancies and child poverty;</content>
</clause>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida6aaf0cc-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the demographic and financial characteristics of families applying for assistance, families receiving assistance, and families that become ineligible to receive assistance;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida6aaf0cd-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> the characteristics of each State program funded under this part; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida6aaf0ce-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/b/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> the trends in employment and earnings of needy families with minor children living at home.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0cf-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Pre-reauthorization State-by-State reports on engagement in additional work activities and expenditures for other benefits and services</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0d0-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> State reporting requirements</heading><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0d1-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/A"><num value="A" class="bold">(A)</num><heading class="bold"> Reporting periods and deadlines</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">Each eligible State shall submit to the Secretary the following reports:</chapeau><clause style="-uslm-lc:I77" class="indent5 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0d2-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/A/i"><num value="i" class="bold">(i)</num><heading class="bold"> March 2011 report</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3">Not later than <date date="2011-05-31">May 31, 2011</date>, a report for the period that begins on <date date="2011-03-01">March 1, 2011</date>, and ends on <date date="2011-03-31">March 31, 2011</date>, that contains the information specified in subparagraphs (B) and (C).</p>

<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0d6-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B"><num value="B" class="bold">(B)</num><heading class="bold"> Engagement in additional work activities</heading><clause style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aaf0d7-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><chapeau> With respect to each work-eligible individual in a family receiving assistance during a reporting period specified in subparagraph (A), whether the individual engages in any activities directed toward attaining self-sufficiency during a month occurring in a reporting period, and if so, the specific activities—</chapeau><subclause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaf0d8-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/i/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> that do not qualify as a work activity under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s607/d">section 607(d) of this title</ref> but that are otherwise reasonably calculated to help the family move toward self-sufficiency; or</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaf0d9-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/i/II"><num value="II">(II)</num><chapeau> that are of a type that would be counted toward the State participation rates under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s607">section 607 of this title</ref> but for the fact that—</chapeau><item style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaf0da-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/i/II/aa"><num value="aa">(aa)</num><content> the work-eligible individual did not engage in sufficient hours of the activity;</content>
</item>
<item style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaf0db-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/i/II/bb"><num value="bb">(bb)</num><content> the work-eligible individual has reached the maximum time limit allowed for having participation in the activity counted toward the State’s work participation rate; or</content>
</item>
<item style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="ida6aaf0dc-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/i/II/cc"><num value="cc">(cc)</num><content> the number of work-eligible individuals engaged in such activity exceeds a limitation under such section.</content>

<clause style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aaf0dd-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/B/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><content> Any other information that the Secretary determines appropriate with respect to the information required under clause (i), including if the individual has no hours of participation, the principal reason or reasons for such non-participation.</content>
</clause>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6aaf0de-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/C"><num value="C" class="bold">(C)</num><heading class="bold"> Expenditures on other benefits and services</heading><clause style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6aaf0df-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/C/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><chapeau> Detailed, disaggregated information regarding the types of, and amounts of, expenditures made by the State during a reporting period specified in subparagraph (A) using—</chapeau><subclause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6aaf0e0-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/1/C/i/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> Federal funds provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s603">section 603 of this title</ref> that are (or will be) reported by the State on Form ACF–196 (or any successor form) under the category of other expenditures or the category of benefits or services provided in accordance with the authority provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s604/a/2">section 604(a)(2) of this title</ref>; or</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab17f3-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Publication of summary and analysis of engagement in additional activities</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">Concurrent with the submission of each report required under paragraph (1)(A), an eligible State shall publish on an Internet website maintained by the State agency responsible for administering the State program funded under this part (or such State-maintained website as the Secretary may approve)—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6ab17f4-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/2/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> a summary of the information submitted in the report:</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6ab17f5-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/2/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> an analysis statement regarding the extent to which the information changes measures of total engagement in work activities from what was (or will be) reported by the State in the quarterly report submitted under subsection (a) for the comparable period; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="ida6ab17f6-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/2/C"><num value="C">(C)</num><content> a narrative describing the most common activities contained in the report that are not countable toward the State participation rates under <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s607">section 607 of this title</ref>.</content>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab17f7-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/c/3"><num value="3" class="bold">(3)</num><heading class="bold"> Application of authority to use sampling</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">Subparagraph (B) of subsection (a)(1) shall apply to the reports required under paragraph (1) of this subsection in the same manner as subparagraph (B) of subsection (a)(1) applies to reports required under subparagraph (A) of subsection (a)(1).</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab17fc-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Data exchange standardization for improved interoperability</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab17fd-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> Data exchange standards</heading><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab17fe-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1/A"><num value="A" class="bold">(A)</num><heading class="bold"> Designation</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">The Secretary, in consultation with an interagency work group which shall be established by the Office of Management and Budget, and considering State and tribal perspectives, shall, by rule, designate a data exchange standard for any category of information required to be reported under this part.</p>
</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab17ff-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1/B"><num value="B" class="bold">(B)</num><heading class="bold"> Data exchange standards must be nonproprietary and interoperable</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">The data exchange standard designated under subparagraph (A) shall, to the extent practicable, be nonproprietary and interoperable.</p>

</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="ida6ab3f10-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1/C"><num value="C" class="bold">(C)</num><heading class="bold"> Other requirements</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">In designating data exchange standards under this section, the Secretary shall, to the extent practicable, incorporate—</chapeau><clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6ab3f11-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1/C/i"><num value="i">(i)</num><content> interoperable standards developed and maintained by an international voluntary consensus standards body, as defined by the Office of Management and Budget, such as the International Organization for Standardization;</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6ab3f12-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1/C/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><content> interoperable standards developed and maintained by intergovernmental partnerships, such as the National Information Exchange Model; and</content>
</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6ab3f13-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/1/C/iii"><num value="iii">(iii)</num><content> interoperable standards developed and maintained by Federal entities with authority over contracting and financial assistance, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council.</content>

</subparagraph>

</clause>
<clause style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3" id="ida6ab3f18-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s611/d/2/B/ii"><num value="ii">(ii)</num><content> be consistent with and implement applicable accounting principles; and</content>
