value=\"619\">§ 619.</num><heading> Definitions</heading>\n<chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">As used in this part:</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"ida6adafda-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/1\"><num value=\"1\" class=\"bold\">(1)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Adult</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The term “adult” means an individual who is not a minor child.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"ida6adafdb-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/2\"><num value=\"2\" class=\"bold\">(2)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Minor child</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The term “minor child” means an individual who—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"ida6adafdc-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/2/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> has not attained 18 years of age; or</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"ida6adafdd-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/2/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> has not attained 19 years of age and is a full-time student in a secondary school (or in the equivalent level of vocational or technical training).</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"ida6adafde-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/3\"><num value=\"3\" class=\"bold\">(3)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Fiscal year</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The term “fiscal year” means any 12-month period ending on September 30 of a calendar year.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"ida6adafdf-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4\"><num value=\"4\" class=\"bold\">(4)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Indian, Indian tribe, and tribal organization</heading><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I18\" class=\"indent4 firstIndent-2\" id=\"ida6adafe0-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/A\"><num value=\"A\" class=\"bold\">(A)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> In general</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\">Except as provided in subparagraph (B), the terms “Indian”, “Indian tribe”, and “tribal organization” have the meaning given such terms by <ref href=\"/us/usc/t25/s5304\">section 5304 of title 25</ref>.</p>\n</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I18\" class=\"indent4 firstIndent-2\" id=\"ida6adafe1-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B\"><num value=\"B\" class=\"bold\">(B)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Special rule for Indian tribes in Alaska</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\">The term “Indian tribe” means, with respect to the State of Alaska, only the Metlakatla Indian Community of the Annette Islands Reserve and the following Alaska Native regional nonprofit corporations:</chapeau><clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"ida6adafe2-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B/i\"><num value=\"i\">(i)</num><content> Arctic Slope Native Association.</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"ida6adafe3-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B/ii\"><num value=\"ii\">(ii)</num><content> Kawerak, Inc.</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"ida6adafe4-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B/iii\"><num value=\"iii\">(iii)</num><content> Maniilaq Association.</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"ida6adafe5-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B/iv\"><num value=\"iv\">(iv)</num><content> Association of Village Council value=\"v\">(v)</num><content> Tanana Chiefs Conference.</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"ida6adafe7-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B/vi\"><num value=\"vi\">(vi)</num><content> Cook Inlet Tribal Council.</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"ida6adafe8-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/4/B/vii\"><num value=\"vii\">(vii)</num><content> Bristol Bay Native Association.</content>\n</clause>\n<clause identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s619/5\"><num value=\"5\" class=\"bold\">(5)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> State</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">Except as otherwise specifically provided, the term “State” means the 50 States of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, Guam, and American
