The Architect shall adopt procedures necessary to assure that such buildings meet or exceed such standards.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id8e356d61-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6835/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Construction of new buildings</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The head of a Federal agency may expend Federal funds for the construction of a new Federal building only if the building meets or exceeds the appropriate Federal building energy standards established under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s6834\">section 6834 of this title</ref>.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id8e356d62-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/94/385/tIII/s306\">Pub.
