value=\"6964\">§ 6964.</num><heading> Applicability of solid waste disposal guidelines to Executive agencies</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id8e4bb404-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Compliance</heading><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8e4bb405-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><chapeau> If—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8e4bb406-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> an Executive agency (as defined in <ref href=\"/us/usc/t5/s105\">section 105 of title 5</ref>) or any unit of the legislative branch of the Federal Government has jurisdiction over any real property or facility the operation or administration of which involves such agency in solid waste management activities, or</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8e4bb407-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> such an agency enters into a contract with any person for the operation by such person of any Federal property or facility, and the performance of such contract involves such person in solid waste management activities,</content>\n</subparagraph>\n\n<continuation style=\"-uslm-lc:I10\" class=\"indent0 firstIndent0\">then such agency shall insure compliance with the guidelines recommended under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s6907\">section 6907 of this title</ref> and the purposes of this chapter in the operation or administration of such property or facility, or the performance of such contract, as the case may be.</continuation>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8e4bb408-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><chapeau> Each Executive agency or any unit of the legislative branch of the Federal Government which conducts any activity—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8e4bb409-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/2/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> which generates solid waste, and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id8e4bb40a-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/2/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> which, if conducted by a person other than such agency, would require a permit or license from such agency in order to dispose of such solid waste,</content>\n</subparagraph>\n\n<continuation style=\"-uslm-lc:I10\" class=\"indent0 firstIndent0\">shall insure compliance with such guidelines and the purposes of this chapter in conducting such activity.</continuation>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8e4bb40b-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> Each Executive agency which permits the use of Federal property for purposes of disposal of solid waste shall insure compliance with such guidelines and the purposes of this chapter in the disposal of such waste.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8e4bb40c-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/a/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><content> The President or the Committee on House Oversight of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate with regard to any unit of the legislative branch of the Federal Government shall prescribe regulations to carry out this subsection.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id8e4bb40d-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s6964/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Licenses and permits</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Each Executive agency which issues any license or permit for disposal of solid waste shall, prior to the issuance of such license or permit, consult with the Administrator to insure compliance with guidelines recommended under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s6907\">section 6907 of this title</ref> and the purposes of this chapter.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit
