Such regulations shall—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idac855a5e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8262h/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> establish a monitoring system to determine which facilities are the most costly to operate on an energy consumption per square foot basis or other relevant analytical basis;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idac855a5f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8262h/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> identify unusual or abnormal changes in energy consumption; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idac855a60-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8262h/a/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> check the accuracy of utility charges for electricity and gas consumption.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idac855a61-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8262h/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Identification of energy efficiency products</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Postmaster General shall actively undertake a program to identify and procure energy efficiency products for use in its facilities. In carrying out this subsection, the Postmaster General shall, to the maximum extent practicable, incorporate energy efficient information available on Federal Supply Schedules maintained by the General Services Administration and the Defense Logistics Agency.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idac855a62-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/102/486/tI/s163\">Pub. L. 102–486, title I, § 164</ref>, <date date=\"1992-10-24\">Oct. 24, 1992</date>, <ref href=\"/us/stat/106/2860\">106 Stat. 2860</ref>, directed Postmaster General to conduct an energy survey, as defined in <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s8259/5\">42 U.S.C. 8259(5)</ref>, for purposes of determining maximum potential cost effective energy savings that may be achieved in a representative sample of buildings owned or leased by United States Postal Service in different areas of the country, making recommendations for cost effective energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements in those buildings and in other similar United States Postal Service buildings, and identifying barriers which may prevent the United States Postal Service from complying with energy management goals, and further directed Postmaster General to transmit to Congress within 180 days after <date date=\"1992-10-24\">Oct. 24, 1992</date>, a plan for implementing this survey, and to report to Congress on the findings and conclusions of such survey as soon as practicable after its completion.</p>\n</note>\n</notes>\n</section>","provision":null,"duplicates":[],"release":{"label":"116-252","currency_date":"2020-12-22","congress":116,"law_num":252,"excluded_laws":[],"update_num":null,"seq":222,"is_partial":false,"caveat":null,"titles_affected":["18","20","31","34","40","42"],"ingested_titles":[]},"served_from":{"label":"116-252","currency_date":"2020-12-22","congress":116,"law_num":252,"excluded_laws":[],"update_num":null,"seq":222,"is_partial":false,"caveat":null,"titles_affected":["18","20","31","34","40","42"],"ingested_titles":[]},"content_first_seen":{"label":"116-163","currency_date":"2020-10-02","congress":116,"law_num":163,"excluded_laws":[],"update_num":null,"seq":214,"is_partial":false,"caveat":null,"titles_affected":["01","02","03","06","07","08","10","15","17","18","21","22","23","26","28","31","35","36","38","40","42","45","49","50"],"ingested_titles":[]},"is_exact":true,"note":null}
