L. 96–102, title II, § 241, Nov. 5, 1979, 93 Stat. 768.)","seq_in_title":5695,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch93/schIII","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42","level":"title","num":"Title 42—","heading":"THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch93","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 93—","heading":"EMERGENCY ENERGY CONSERVATION","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch93/schIII","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER III—","heading":"STUDIES","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"idac911a3a-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8531\"><num value=\"8531\">§ 8531.</num><heading> Study and report</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idac911a3b-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8531/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Study of commercial and industrial storage of fuel</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Not later than 180 days after <date date=\"1979-11-05\">November 5, 1979</date>, the Secretary shall conduct a study and report to the Congress regarding the commercial and industrial storage of gasoline and middle distillates (other than storage in facilities which have capacities of less than 500 gallons or storage used exclusively and directly for agricultural, residential, petroleum refining, or pipeline transportation purposes).</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idac911a3c-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8531/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Contents of report</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Such report shall—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idac911a3d-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8531/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> indicate to what extent storage activities have increased since <date date=\"1978-11-01\">November 1, 1978</date>, and what business establishments (including utilities) have been involved;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idac911a3e-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8531/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> the estimated amount of gasoline and middle distillates (in the aggregate and by type and region) which are in storage within the United States at the time of the study, the amounts which were in storage at the same time during the calendar year preceding the study, and the purposes for which such storage is maintained; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idac911a3f-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s8531/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> contain such findings and recommendations for legislation and administrative action as the Secretary considers appropriate, including recommendations for improving the availability and quality of data concerning such storage.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idac911a40-09a0-11eb-a85b-f5cef3d06f4d\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/96/102/tII/s241\">Pub.
