<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id8ed8b20a-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629"><num value="8629">§ 8629.</num><heading> Studies and reports</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id8ed8b20b-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><chapeau> The Secretary, after consultation with the Secretary of Energy, shall provide for the collection of data, including—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b20c-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> information concerning home energy consumption;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b20d-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the amount, cost and type of fuels used for households eligible for assistance under this subchapter;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b20e-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> the type of fuel used by various income groups;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b20f-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> the number and income levels of households assisted by this subchapter;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b210-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><content> the number of households which received such assistance and include one or more individuals who are 60 years or older or disabled or include young children; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b211-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/a/6"><num value="6">(6)</num><content> any other information which the Secretary determines to be reasonably necessary to carry out the provisions of this subchapter.</content>
</paragraph>

<continuation style="-uslm-lc:I10" class="indent0 firstIndent0">Nothing in this subsection may be construed to require the Secretary to collect data which has been collected and made available to the Secretary by any other agency of the Federal Government.</continuation>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id8ed8b212-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><chapeau> The Secretary shall, no later than June 30 of each fiscal year, submit a report to the Congress containing a detailed compilation of the data under subsection (a) with respect to the prior fiscal year, and a report that describes for the prior fiscal year—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b213-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the manner in which States carry out the requirements of clauses (2), (5), (8), and (15) of <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s8624/b">section 8624(b) of this title</ref>; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id8ed8b214-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8629/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the impact of each State’s program on recipient and eligible households.</content>
