<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id8eda3949-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8811"><num value="8811">§ 8811.</num><heading> Biomass energy development plans</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8eda394a-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8811/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Plan respecting maximized production and use by <date date="1982-12-31">December 31, 1982</date>; preparation, transmission, etc.</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Not later than 180 days after <date date="1980-06-30">June 30, 1980</date>, the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of Energy shall jointly prepare, and transmit to the President and the Congress, a plan for maximizing in accordance with this subchapter biomass energy production and use. Such plan shall be designed to achieve a total level of alcohol production and use within the United States of at least 60,000 barrels per day of alcohol by <date date="1982-12-31">December 31, 1982</date>.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8eda394b-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8811/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Comprehensive plan respecting maximized production and use from <date date="1983-01-01">January 1, 1983</date>, to <date date="1990-12-31">December 31, 1990</date>, preparation, transmission, etc.</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id8eda394c-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8811/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> Not later than <date date="1982-01-01">January 1, 1982</date>, the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of Energy shall jointly prepare, and transmit to the President and the Congress, a comprehensive plan for maximizing in accordance with this subchapter biomass energy production and use, for the period beginning <date date="1983-01-01">January 1, 1983</date>, and ending <date date="1990-12-31">December 31, 1990</date>. Such plan shall be designed to achieve a level of alcohol production within the United States equal to at least 10 percent of the level of gasoline consumption within the United States as estimated by the Secretary of Energy for the calendar year 1990.</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id8eda394d-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8811/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> The plan prepared under this subsection shall evaluate the feasibility of reaching the goals set forth in such subsection.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id8eda394e-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f" identifier="/us/usc/t42/s8811/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Required guidelines</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The plans prepared under subsections (a) and (b) shall each include guidelines for use in awarding financial assistance under this subchapter which are designed to increase, during the period covered by the plan, the amount of motor fuel displaced by biomass energy.</p>
