L. 96–310, § 10, July 17, 1980, 94 Stat. 946.)","seq_in_title":5771,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch98","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42","level":"title","num":"Title 42—","heading":"THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t42/ch98","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 98—","heading":"OCEAN THERMAL ENERGY CONVERSION RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id476ebecb-3271-11e3-ab2f-8f7fedb88afd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9009\"><num value=\"9009\">§ 9009.</num><heading> Authorization of appropriations</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id476ebecc-3271-11e3-ab2f-8f7fedb88afd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9009/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><content> There is hereby authorized to be appropriated to carry out the purposes of this chapter the sum of $20,000,000 for operating expenses for the fiscal year ending <date date=\"1981-09-30\">September 30, 1981</date>, in addition to any amounts authorized to be appropriated in the fiscal year 1981 Authorization Act pursuant to <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s7270\">section 7270 of this title</ref>.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id476ebecd-3271-11e3-ab2f-8f7fedb88afd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9009/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><content> There is hereby authorized to be appropriated to carry out the purposes of this chapter the sum of $60,000,000 for operating expenses for the fiscal year ending <date date=\"1982-09-30\">September 30, 1982</date>.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id476ebece-3271-11e3-ab2f-8f7fedb88afd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9009/c\"><num value=\"c\">(c)</num><content> Funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 1981 to carry out the purposes of <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s9004\">section 9004 of this title</ref> for plant and capital equipment as follows:<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Project 81–ES–1, ocean thermal energy conversion demonstration plants with a combined capacity of at least one hundred megawatts electrical or the energy product equivalent, sites to be determined, conceptual and preliminary design activities only $5,000,000.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id476ebecf-3271-11e3-ab2f-8f7fedb88afd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9009/d\"><num value=\"d\">(d)</num><content> Funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 1982 to carry out the purposes of <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s9004\">section 9004 of this title</ref> for plant and capital equipment as follows:<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Project 81–ES–1, ocean thermal energy conversion demonstration plants with a combined capacity of at least one hundred megawatts electrical or the energy product equivalent, sites to be determined, conceptual and preliminary design activities only $25,000,000.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id476ebed0-3271-11e3-ab2f-8f7fedb88afd\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/96/310/s10\">Pub.
