The Administrator may determine that one single quantity shall be the reportable quantity for any hazardous substance, regardless of the medium into which the hazardous substance is released. For all hazardous substances for which proposed regulations establishing reportable quantities were published in the Federal Register under this subsection on or before <date date=\"1986-03-01\">March 1, 1986</date>, the Administrator shall promulgate under this subsection final regulations establishing reportable quantities not later than <date date=\"1986-12-31\">December 31, 1986</date>. For all hazardous substances for which proposed regulations establishing reportable quantities were not published in the Federal Register under this subsection on or before <date date=\"1986-03-01\">March 1, 1986</date>, the Administrator shall publish under this subsection proposed regulations establishing reportable quantities not later than <date date=\"1986-12-31\">December 31, 1986</date>, and promulgate final regulations under this subsection establishing reportable quantities not later than <date date=\"1988-04-30\">April 30, 1988</date>.”</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id8ee9f010-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9602/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><content> Unless and until superseded by regulations establishing a reportable quantity under subsection (a) of this section for any hazardous substance as defined in <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s9601/14\">section 9601(14) of this title</ref>, (1) a quantity of one pound, or (2) for those hazardous substances for which reportable quantities have been established pursuant to <ref href=\"/us/usc/t33/s1321/b/4\">section 1321(b)(4) of title 33</ref>, such reportable quantity, shall be deemed that quantity, the release of which requires notification pursuant to section 9603(a) or (b) of this title.</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id8ee9f011-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/96/510/tI/s102\">Pub.
