The Secretary shall enforce the provisions of the preceding sentence in accordance with <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s2000d–1\">section 2000d–1 of this title</ref>. <ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s2000d–2\">Section 2000d–2 of this title</ref> shall apply with respect to any action taken by the Secretary to enforce such sentence. This section shall not be construed as affecting any other legal remedy that a person may have if such person is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, subjected to discrimination under, or denied employment in connection with, any program, project, or activity receiving assistance under this subchapter.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id8f148284-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t42/s9849/c\"><num value=\"c\" class=\"bold\">(c)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Discrimination based on handicapping condition as basis for denial of financial assistance</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Secretary shall not provide financial assistance for any program, project, or activity under this subchapter unless the grant or contract relating to the financial assistance specifically provides that no person with responsibilities in the operation of the program, project, or activity will discriminate against any individual because of a handicapping condition in violation of <ref href=\"/us/usc/t29/s794\">section 794 of title 29</ref>.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id8f148285-86fb-11e9-b915-8b3e54686b9f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/97/35/tVI/s654\">Pub.
