<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="ida843998d-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101"><num value="4101">§ 4101.</num><heading> Electronic directory; online access to publications; electronic storage facility</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="ida843998e-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">In General</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The Superintendent of Documents, under the direction of the Director of the Government Publishing Office, shall—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida843998f-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> maintain an electronic directory of Federal electronic information;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida8439990-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> provide a system of online access to the Congressional Record, the Federal Register, and, as determined by the Superintendent of Documents, other appropriate publications distributed by the Superintendent of Documents; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida8439991-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> operate an electronic storage facility for Federal electronic information to which online access is made available under paragraph (2).</content>

</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="ida8439992-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Departmental Requests</inline>.—</heading><content>To the extent practicable, the Superintendent of Documents shall accommodate any request by the head of a department or agency to include in the system of access referred to in subsection (a)(2) information that is under the control of the department or agency involved.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="ida8439993-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Consultation</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>In carrying out this section, the Superintendent of Documents shall consult—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida8439994-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/c/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> users of the directory and the system of access provided for under subsection (a); and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="ida8439995-b7c5-11e4-ace0-afe08ea675b0" identifier="/us/usc/t44/s4101/c/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> other providers of similar information services.</content>
</paragraph>

<continuation style="-uslm-lc:I10" class="indent0 firstIndent0">The purpose of such consultation shall be to assess the quality and value of the directory and the system, in light of user needs.</continuation>
