<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In order to carry out the purposes of this chapter, the Commission may—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0e7727ff-188c-11eb-9054-eff4ebea7f1f" identifier="/us/usc/t47/s162/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> undertake research and development work in connection with any matter in relation to which the Commission has jurisdiction; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id0e777620-188c-11eb-9054-eff4ebea7f1f" identifier="/us/usc/t47/s162/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> promote the carrying out of such research and development by others, or otherwise to arrange for such research and development to be carried out by others.</content>
