<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id358f9070-ec39-11e5-b01e-e2270cb35279" identifier="/us/usc/t49/s44908"><num value="44908">§ 44908.</num><heading> Travel advisory and suspension of foreign assistance</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id358f9071-ec39-11e5-b01e-e2270cb35279" identifier="/us/usc/t49/s44908/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Travel Advisories</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>On being notified by the Secretary of Transportation that the Secretary of Transportation has decided under <ref href="/us/usc/t49/s44907/d/2/A/ii">section 44907(d)(2)(A)(ii) of this title</ref> that a condition exists that threatens the safety or security of passengers, aircraft, or crew traveling to or from a foreign airport that the Secretary of Transportation has decided under <ref href="/us/usc/t49/s44907">section 44907 of this title</ref> does not maintain and carry out effective security measures, the Secretary of State—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id358f9072-ec39-11e5-b01e-e2270cb35279" identifier="/us/usc/t49/s44908/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> immediately shall issue a travel advisory for that airport; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id358f9073-ec39-11e5-b01e-e2270cb35279" identifier="/us/usc/t49/s44908/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> shall publicize the advisory widely.</content>
</paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id358f9074-ec39-11e5-b01e-e2270cb35279" identifier="/us/usc/t49/s44908/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Suspending Assistance</inline>.—</heading><content>The President shall suspend assistance provided under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (<ref href="/us/usc/t22/s2151">22 U.S.C. 2151</ref> et seq.) or the Arms Export Control Act (<ref href="/us/usc/t22/s2751">22 U.S.C. 2751</ref> et seq.) to a country in which is located an airport with respect to which <ref href="/us/usc/t49/s44907/d/1">section 44907(d)(1) of this title</ref> becomes effective if the Secretary of State decides the country is a high terrorist threat country. The President may waive this subsection if the President decides, and reports to Congress, that the waiver is required because of national security interests or a humanitarian emergency.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id358f9075-ec39-11e5-b01e-e2270cb35279" identifier="/us/usc/t49/s44908/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Actions No Longer Required</inline>.—</heading><content>An action required under this section is no longer required only if the Secretary of Transportation has made a decision as provided under <ref href="/us/usc/t49/s44907/d/4">section 44907(d)(4) of this title</ref>. The Secretary shall notify Congress when the action is no longer required to be taken.</content>
