The Disability Coordinator shall report directly to the Administrator, in order to ensure that the needs of individuals with disabilities are being properly addressed in emergency preparedness and disaster relief.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id1ab7072d-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Responsibilities</heading><chapeau>The Disability Coordinator shall be responsible for—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab7072e-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> providing guidance and coordination on matters related to individuals with disabilities in emergency planning requirements and relief efforts in the event of a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab7072f-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> interacting with the staff of the Agency, the National Council on Disabilities, the Interagency Coordinating Council on Preparedness and Individuals with Disabilities established under Executive Order No. 13347, other agencies of the Federal Government, and State, local, and tribal government authorities regarding the needs of individuals with disabilities in emergency planning requirements and relief efforts in the event of a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70730-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> consulting with organizations that represent the interests and rights of individuals with disabilities about the needs of individuals with disabilities in emergency planning requirements and relief efforts in the event of a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70731-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><content> ensuring the coordination and dissemination of best practices and model evacuation plans for individuals with disabilities;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70732-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/5\"><num value=\"5\">(5)</num><content> ensuring the development of training materials and a curriculum for training of emergency response providers, State, local, and tribal government officials, and others on the needs of individuals with disabilities;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70733-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/6\"><num value=\"6\">(6)</num><content> promoting the accessibility of telephone hotlines and websites regarding emergency preparedness, evacuations, and disaster relief;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70734-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/7\"><num value=\"7\">(7)</num><content> working to ensure that video programming distributors, including broadcasters, cable operators, and satellite television services, make emergency information accessible to individuals with hearing and vision disabilities;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70735-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/8\"><num value=\"8\">(8)</num><content> ensuring the availability of accessible transportation options for individuals with disabilities in the event of an evacuation;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70736-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/9\"><num value=\"9\">(9)</num><content> providing guidance and implementing policies to ensure that the rights and wishes of individuals with disabilities regarding post-evacuation residency and relocation are respected;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id1ab70737-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t6/s321b/b/10\"><num value=\"10\">(10)</num><content> ensuring that meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities are included in the components of the national preparedness system established under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t6/s744\">section 744 of this title</ref>;
