<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id1ae913fc-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00" identifier="/us/usc/t6/s655"><num value="655">§ 655.</num><heading> Enhancement of Federal and non-Federal cybersecurity</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In carrying out the responsibilities under <ref href="/us/usc/t6/s652">section 652 of this title</ref>, the Director of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security shall—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id1ae913fd-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00" identifier="/us/usc/t6/s655/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><chapeau> as appropriate, provide to State and local government entities, and upon request to private entities that own or operate critical information systems—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id1ae913fe-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00" identifier="/us/usc/t6/s655/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> analysis and warnings related to threats to, and vulnerabilities of, critical information systems; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id1ae913ff-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00" identifier="/us/usc/t6/s655/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> in coordination with the Under Secretary for Emergency Preparedness and Response, crisis management support in response to threats to, or attacks on, critical information systems;</content>

</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id1ae91400-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00" identifier="/us/usc/t6/s655/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> as appropriate, provide technical assistance, upon request, to the private sector and other government entities, in coordination with the Under Secretary for Emergency Preparedness and Response, with respect to emergency recovery plans to respond to major failures of critical information systems; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id1ae91401-a3d3-11e9-be6e-e752deae1f00" identifier="/us/usc/t6/s655/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> fulfill the responsibilities of the Secretary to protect Federal information systems under subchapter II of chapter 35 of title 44.</content>
