<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id6a790e53-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736"><num value="1736">§ 1736.</num><heading> Use of Commodity Credit Corporation</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6a790e54-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Commodity Credit Corporation may acquire and make available such agricultural commodities as necessary to carry out agreements under this chapter.</p>
</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6a790e55-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Included expenses</heading><chapeau>With respect to commodities made available under subchapters III and III–A, the Commodity Credit Corporation may pay—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e56-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the cost of acquiring such commodities;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e57-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the costs associated with packaging, enrichment, preservation, and fortification of such commodities, including the costs of carrying out <ref href="/us/usc/t7/s1736g–2">section 1736g–2 of this title</ref>;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e58-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> the processing, transportation, handling, and other incidental costs up to the time of the delivery of such commodities free on board vessels in United States ports;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e59-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> the vessel freight charges from United States ports or designated Canadian transshipment ports, as determined by the Secretary, to designated ports of entry abroad;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e5a-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><chapeau> the costs associated with transporting such commodities from United States ports to designated points of entry abroad in the case—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id6a790e5b-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/5/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> of landlocked countries;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id6a790e5c-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/5/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> of ports that cannot be used effectively because of natural or other disturbances;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id6a790e5d-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/5/C"><num value="C">(C)</num><content> of the unavailability of carriers to a specific country; or</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id6a790e5e-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/5/D"><num value="D">(D)</num><content> of substantial savings in costs or time that may be effected by the utilization of points of entry other than ports;</content>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e5f-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/6"><num value="6">(6)</num><content> in the case of commodities for urgent and extraordinary relief requirements (including pre-positioned commodities) the transportation costs incurred in moving the commodities from designated points of entry or ports of entry abroad to storage and distribution sites and associated storage and distribution costs; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6a790e60-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/b/7"><num value="7">(7)</num><content> the charges for general average contributions arising out of the ocean transport of commodities transferred pursuant thereto.</content>
</paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6a790e61-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Commodity Credit Corporation</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The funds, facilities, and authorities of the Commodity Credit Corporation may be used to carry out this chapter.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6a790e62-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1736/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Availability of funds</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Funds shall be available under this chapter only to the extent provided in advance in appropriation Acts.</p>
