<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" id="id91218d21-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d"><num value="1926d">§ 1926d.</num><heading> Water systems for rural and Native villages in Alaska</heading><subsection class="indent0" id="id91218d22-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Secretary may make grants to the State of Alaska for the benefit of rural or Native villages in Alaska to provide for the development and construction of water and wastewater systems to improve the health and sanitation conditions in those villages.</p>

<subsection class="indent0" id="id91218d23-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> Matching funds</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">To be eligible to receive a grant under subsection (a) of this section, the State of Alaska shall provide 25 percent in matching funds from non-Federal sources.</p>

<subsection class="indent0" id="id91218d24-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><heading> Consultation with State of Alaska</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Secretary shall consult with the State of Alaska on a method of prioritizing the allocation of grants under subsection (a) of this section according to the needs of, and relative health and sanitation conditions in, each village.</p>

<subsection class="indent0" id="id9121b435-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/d"><num value="d">(d)</num><heading> Authorization of appropriations</heading><paragraph class="indent1" id="id9121b436-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/d/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><heading> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $30,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2008 through 2012.</p>

<paragraph class="indent1" id="id9121b437-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/d/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><heading> Training and technical assistance</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">Not more than 2 percent of the amount made available under paragraph (1) for a fiscal year may be used by the State of Alaska for training and technical assistance programs relating to the operation and management of water and waste disposal services in rural and Native villages.</p>

<paragraph class="indent1" id="id9121b438-f639-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s1926d/d/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><heading> Availability</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">Funds appropriated pursuant to the authorization of appropriations in paragraph (1) shall be available until expended.</p>
