<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id6b305036-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522"><num value="6522">§ 6522.</num><heading> Authorization of appropriations</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6b305037-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">There are authorized to be appropriated for each fiscal year such sums as may be necessary to carry out this chapter.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6b305038-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> National organic program</heading><chapeau>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in order to carry out activities under the national organic program established under this chapter, there are authorized to be appropriated—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6b305039-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2008;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6b30503a-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> $6,500,000 for fiscal year 2009;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6b30503b-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> $8,000,000 for fiscal year 2010;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6b30503c-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> $9,500,000 for fiscal year 2011;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6b30503d-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><content> $11,000,000 for fiscal year 2012;</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6b30503e-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/b/6"><num value="6">(6)</num><content> $15,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2014 through 2018; and</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6b305040-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Modernization and technology upgrade for national organic program</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id6b305041-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/c/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The Secretary shall modernize database and technology systems of the national organic program.</p>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id6b305042-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s6522/c/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Funding</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">Of the funds of the Commodity Credit Corporation and in addition to any other funds made available for that purpose, the Secretary shall make available to carry out this subsection $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2014, to remain available until expended.</p>
