<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id6996eb15-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k"><num value="87k">§ 87k.</num><heading> Standardizing commercial inspections</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6996eb16-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Testing equipment</heading><chapeau>To promote greater uniformity in commercial grain inspection results, the Secretary may work in conjunction with the National Institute for Standards and Technology, the National Conference on Weights and Measures, or other appropriate governmental, scientific, or technical organizations to—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6996eb17-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> identify inspection instruments requiring standardization under subsection (b);</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6996eb18-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> establish performance criteria for commercial grain inspection instruments;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6996eb19-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> develop a national program to approve grain inspection instruments for commercial inspection; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6996eb1a-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/a/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> develop standard reference materials or other means necessary for calibration or testing of approved instruments.</content>

</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6996eb1b-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> General inspection procedures</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">To ensure that producers are treated uniformly in delivering grain, the Secretary shall develop practical and cost-effective procedures for conducting commercial inspections of grain with respect to the application of quality factors, that result in premiums and discounts. The procedures shall be made available to country elevators and others making first-point-of-delivery inspections.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6996eb1c-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Inspection services and information</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">To encourage the use of equipment and procedures developed in accordance with subsections (a) and (b), the Secretary shall provide for official inspection services by the Secretary, States, and official inspection agencies and provide information on the proper use of sampling and inspection equipment, application of the grain standards, and availability of official inspection services, including appeals under this chapter.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6996eb1d-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Standardized aflatoxin equipment and procedures</heading><chapeau>The Secretary shall—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6996eb1e-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/d/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> establish uniform standards for testing equipment; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6996eb1f-ec38-11e5-ab42-dae4a1e80e35" identifier="/us/usc/t7/s87k/d/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> establish uniform testing procedures and sampling techniques;</content>
</paragraph>

<continuation style="-uslm-lc:I10" class="indent0 firstIndent0">that may be used by processors, refiners, operators of grain elevators and terminals, and others to accurately detect the level of aflatoxin contamination of corn in the United States.</continuation>
